Hackney Community Law Centre has been providing legal advice and representation the residents and tenants of Hackney since the 1970s.
We provide legal advice and assistance to low paid and unemployed people on debt, employment, housing, immigration and welfare benefits law.
We also deal with areas of public law – that is the process for challenging local and national government decisions. In order to continue being able to provide the service that we do, we very much need your financial and practical support.
Your contributions go a long way to continuing and hopefully extending our legal work in the community.
In early 2011, we launched the Friends of Hackney Community Law Centre (HCLC). Friends of HCLC are supporters who make a regular financial contribution to our work – for example £5 a month or as much as they can afford. In return, they are kept regularly up-to-date with HCLC news and invited to special events where we can thank them for their support.
If you would like to donate, you can set up a regular standing order to our fundraising account quoting the reference ‘Friends of HCLC’. The account number is: 20284408 and the sort code: 086001. Don’t forget to contact us to let us know you’ve done this so we can thank you and add you to our special Friends of HCLC mailing lists!
We are also very happy to receive cheques, which can be posted to us at the office: 8 Lower Clapton Road, London E5 0PD. Please make your cheque payable to ‘Friends of Hackney Community Law Centre’ and also please enclose a gift aid form with your cheque – which you can download and print off HERE. If you sign a gift aid form we can claim an extra 25 per cent on top of your own donation from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
We are very grateful people for their following for their generous and regular financial support:
- Louise Christian
- Sally Jeffery
- Sophie Earnshaw
- Julia Hayns
- Andrew Lock
- Benjamin Mathews
- Alice Pillar
- Matt Fehilly
